Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy provides a regular and confidential space where we can speak freely and feel less isolated with our problems. The analytic process is carefully crafted so you can talk about whatever is on your mind, without judgement. It is an unusual psychotherapy offer because the use of psychoanalytic ideas provides freedom to explore the complexities of the position we find ourselves in, at our own pace, and without interference from the psychological assessments or outcome measurements that overarch many other forms of therapy. Some people come only for a short while to work through a specific issue and others come for many months or years. It is a highly individualised journey led by you.

I have 18 years of experience in psychosocial and therapeutic work, mostly in senior leadership roles. I've worked in a wide range of settings with children aged 2+, young people, adults, and families on both a 1-2-1 basis and in small groups. Most recently, I have worked in private psychotherapy practice with adults aged 18+, which follows 5 years of specialist postgraduate training and my UKCP qualification as a Psychoanalyst/Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist.

I am a member of the Society for Social and Critical Psychoanalysis which fosters a critical, reflective, and imaginative thinking about psychoanalysis and its contemporary practices.
